How are hollow cheeks formed?

There are many ways to age. Some people tend to wrinkle, others have sagging skin and others skin is deepening. This is a genetic problem.

 

The ball of Bichat is a ball of fat which is present in the middle of the cheek, and goes up towards the temple. It has an important role in the relief of the cheek. With the years this mass of fat loses its volume, which causes the digging of the cheeks.

 

Fat loss can also be seen in the valley of tears, chin, and temples. For these people, the easiest way to rejuvenate and fill those gaps, so as to make people look less sad.

Treatments of the hollow cheeks

We use Allergan® Juvederm® Voluma Hyaluronic Acid. In general, 1 ml is sufficient for both cheeks. The subcutaneous injections are deep, near the zygomatic bone, in fibrous pockets that will contain hyaluronic acid. It is possible to have a small oedema reaction, which will persist for three days.

 

We have a very good synergy of action by mixing in the same syringe hyaluronic acid and Plasma Rich in Platelets.

 

We always review the patient after 7 days for possible retouching.

 

After 12 to 18 months, 50% of the hyaluronic acid is gone. It is necessary to renew the injection.
